Blessing in our context literarily mean God’s approval for good things, favor or divine benefits.  God’s pronouncement of blessing on man was made on man’s spirit.  Man was blessed in Genesis 1:28 but man’s physical body was formed in Genesis 2:7.  It means that man’s spirit received the blessing.  It also mean that God’s blessing on man is older than his material body in the physical world.  Therefore, the only thing that would be able to “dethrone” man from the blessing would be something out of the natural world – sin.  At the root of all manifestations of unrighteousness is the spirit of sin. For instance, there is spirit of addiction, spirit of lies, spirit of sexual perversion or immorality etc.  The agenda of the spirit of sin is to multiply lawlessness among mankind to exonerate man from the original plan of God – blessing.  This shows a clear contradiction to the agenda of God (multiplying His blessing in the world through mankind).

The fall of man reduced him from realm of God (the realm of absolute blessing and success) to that below sin and the man of sin.  II Thessalonians 2:3.  Through the finished work of Christ believers are no longer under the dominion of sin; this is by choice!

“Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord.  Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof. Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God. For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace.” – Romans 6:11-14

Brethren, the only factor (sin) that could make man to fall below the realm of absolute blessing and success has been put under us.  The man of sin and sin do not have a say; we have the final say.  Believers have been empowered to choose blessing or cursing; success or failure; life or death.  Deuteronomy 3:19.  We are not the generations of people that should arrogate anything to the devil; he does not have any “say”.  If we miss it in any way; we have the privilege to quickly return to God in genuine repentance so as to stay in the realm of blessing and success.  I John 1:8-10.

Friends, the man of sin is a deceiver and father of lies.  John 8:44.  All New Testament believers are under grace and not under the law but that is not scriptural license for spiritual lawlessness.  Remember, sin is transgression of the law and anyone that commits sin is a transgressor of the law.  I John 3:4.  If an unbeliever commits sin, he or she is a transgressor of the law; if a believer commits the same sin, he or she is a transgressor of the law.  In actual fact, sin places anyone that touches it on the same platform and gives them a common tittle – sinner.

Staying away from sin is actually staying in blessing; it is retaining one’s empowerment to succeed.  The Old Testament saints had privilege for forgiveness of sin but the New Testament believers have the grace of remission of sin.  Hebrews 9:22.  Glory be to God! We are not left without a choice, we have the privilege to determine where we want to be.

Refuse to submit to the enemy of God.  Consent not to the deceitfulness of sin.  Refuse to take the bait of sin; it is nothing but spiritual poison.  It is a lure to curse and failure here on the earth and eternal damnation afterwards!  Refuse to see sin as “way of life”, playing games or smartness.  It is simply evil!

Please make this confession of faith with me: “I am too loaded to fall; I am above sin, the man of sin, his cohorts and all his agents.  The world is waiting for my manifestation; I cannot fail!  I am wired to bless the world and empowered to conquer, to win and to triumph in all battles of life!”
