One of the fundamental selling points of the Kingdom of God is the blessing of God.  Believers in Jesus Christ are said to be blessed by God. As a matter of fact, the Bible says:

“Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, cursed is everyone that hangeth on a tree: that the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.” – Galatians 3:13-14

Therefore, believers in Jesus Christ have access to the blessing of Abraham.  It is good for us to trace the blessing of Abraham.  The Bible says:

“Now the LORD said unto Abram, get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father’s house, unto a land that I will shew thee: and I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing: and I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all the families of the earth be blessed.” – Genesis 12:1-3

Dr. David Oyedepo says: “you cannot be blessed more than you are willing to be a blessing”.  The blessing of Abraham is meant to make the blessed a blessing.  Many people (including believers) interpret being blessed to mean having material possessions but it is largely being made worthy to “…receive the promise of the Spirit through faith” and becoming a member of the divine royal family named in heaven and on earth.  Ephesians 3:15

As believers in Jesus Christ, you are blessed because you are saved.  You are saved to connect others to that blessing.  Remember, God said “…I will bless thee…and thou shalt be a blessing…and in thee shall all the families of the earth be blessed”.  God wants to save all the families of the earth through you.

Therefore, the magnitude of God’s blessing on a believer is tied to how much the believer is willing to reach out to drawing others to Christ.  The greatness of any believer is only limited to how far the believer is willing to win souls into the kingdom.  Please don’t forget that God wants to reach “…all the families of the earth…” through you.

A believer’s blessing may be within his locality while another’s may be across his village or town while another’s may be across his nation and even continents of the world. Wherever we find ourselves or whatever level we find ourselves is a function of our choice.  It is important for me to mention here again that we are not winning souls because we want position; we are winning souls simply because we want to:

  • Obey God;
  • Be a blessing to the families of the earth.

Be a blessing to someone today; tell him/her about Jesus Christ.  Reach out to a family today; God expect to bless them through you!  That is the real issue!
