THE LAST DAYS II

THE LAST DAYS II
“Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of the devils; speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron.” – I Timothy 4:1-2
The totality of Christian adventure is summarized in one word as faith. Acts 6:7. Faith is not just about receiving from God. Faith is pleasing God. Hebrews 11:6.
Dr. David Oyedepo (in one of his many definitions of faith) said; “faith is obeying God to prove that you believe Him so as to compel Him to make good His promise”. Faith goes with obedience; sin goes with disobedience. The Bible recognizes the Spirit of faith. II Corinthians 4:13. The Bible also recognizes the spirit of disobedience. Ephesians 2:2. The Spirit of faith is the Spirit of obedience; the Spirit of obedience is the Spirit of righteousness because obedience is righteousness. Therefore, the Spirit of faith is the Spirit of righteousness. Romans 1:4. On the other hand, the spirit of disobedience is the spirit of sin because all disobedience is sin. Therefore, the spirit of disobedience is the spirit of unrighteousness. I John 5:17
The perils of the last days reveal departure of both the laity and the clergy from the faith. Disobeying God is often explained away by believers as if the Scriptures were written for the old time people and not for our contemporary time. The Word of God is for all generations! The Word of God is eternally settled and remains current in all generations; no contemporary technology, development or social advancement can catch up with the wisdom in the Word of God. God’s thoughts and ways are higher than man’s. Isaiah 55:8-11.
Any teaching that contradicts the Word of God is false. Any “teacher” whose life style does not align with the Word of God is nothing but an hypocrite.
Making excuses for sin is making room for the devil. Expose the unfruitful works of darkness. Don’t be caught up in the peril of the last days!
Scriptures for meditation: Ephesians 5:8-14; I Timothy 6:6-11
