THE FORCE OF HOPE PART IV

THE FORCE OF HOPE PART IV

Hope is a supernatural force.  Nothings powers a man’s confidence like hope.  The psalmist was in soul searching about the state of his confidence; he said:

“Why art thou cast down, O my soul? and why art thou disquieted in me? hope thou in God: for I shall yet praise him for the help of his countenance.” – Psalm 42:5

“Why art thou cast down, O my soul? and why art thou disquieted within me? hope thou in God: for I shall yet praise him, who is the health of my countenance, and my God.” – Psalm 42:11

“Why art thou cast down, O my soul? and why art thou disquieted within me? hope in God: for I shall yet praise him, who is the health of my countenance, and my God.” – Psalm 43:5

The Psalmist was saying virtually the same thing in three different verses of scriptures. As long as hope is alive man cannot be cast down.  As long as hope is alive, the health of man’s countenance is intact.  As long as hope is alive, help is accessible.

Brethren, a large number of suicide cases are traceable to loss of hope.  A hopeful person will never contemplate suicide no matter how difficult things are around him or her.  Whatever it is that looks like is lacking in your life right now; as long as you have God as your God and Father, things are bound to change for the better for you.  Commune with yourself just like the Psalmist and command your soul to keep hope alive in God.  One of the covenant names of God is El-Shaddai; He is more than enough, He is the Almighty.  Genesis 17:1-2.  There is nothing too hard or difficult for Him.

Friends, hope in anyone or anything outside God may fail but when our hope is in God and His word, we can be rest assured that the only change that we are bound to experience is change for the better.

Don’t allow anything to steal your hope.  Refuse to lose hope on God and His word; He will never give up on you.

“Behold, the eye of the LORD is upon them that fear him, upon them that hope in his mercy; To deliver their soul from death, and to keep them alive in famine. Our soul waiteth for the LORD: he is our help and our shield. For our heart shall rejoice in him, because we have trusted in his holy name. Let thy mercy, O LORD, be upon us, according as we hope in thee.” – Psalm 33:18-22

God is ever browsing the entire earth for those that fear Him and hope in His mercy to deliver them and meet their needs in difficult times.  No matter how difficult the situation looks like, God has vowed to deliver you and sustain you through those difficult times.

The God that is more than enough will make a way for you!
