Many people think they understand what the topic means but the more we think we know the more we discover that we know not enough of what we need to know. I Corinthians 8:2. The church (among others) represents the body of Christ on the earth. Ephesians 1:22; Ephesians 5:23; Colossians 1:18. Jesus Christ is the head of the church. Being a member of the church is belonging to the body of Jesus Christ on the earth.
Gleaning spiritual understanding from scriptures; the eternal government of God is prophetically ordained to be on the shoulder of Jesus Christ. It is a known fact that the shoulder is part of the body not the head. Therefore, the church (which is the body of Jesus Christ) is prophetically ordained to bear the unending government of God on the earth. The body has the responsibility to run the government of God on the earth. The Bible says:
“For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform this.” – Isaiah 9:6-7
Being a member of the church is a great privilege because as a member of the church you automatically become a member of the government of God on the earth that has endless tenure. In the natural socio/political setting of any nation; being a member of cabinet of any government is counted as a great honor. As a matter of fact, in some parts of the world, people would go to any length to lobby and politick to be selected or elected to become members of a government that only has a term of probably four years. Just like the worldly government, every member of the church (the eternal government of God on the earth) has spiritual rights and privileges. It conveys a level of spiritual authority that empowers you to deal with issues of life.
It is important to mention here that no one can become a member of the church without first accepting the head of the church as his/her personal Lord and Savior. If you have not receive Jesus Christ into your heart, you must do that now. Go to the salvation page on our website and say the prayer there; take the next step to join the congregation of believers next Sunday to validate your location in the body.
If you are already a believer, you are a member of the body of Jesus Christ on whose shoulder rests the unending government of God on the earth. This understanding is crucial to always having the right response to issues and making the most of one’s positioning as a member of the body.
