THE BASICS OF THE FUNDAMENTAL I

THE BASICS OF THE FUNDAMENTAL I

The fundamental of our Christianity is faith.  Our entire Christian adventure is referred to as faith.  Acts 6:7.  We understand from scriptures that faith is a profession.  Hebrews 10:23.  It means we need some rigorous learning and studying to excel in the profession of faith just like it is in any worthwhile profession.

The source of faith is the Word of God.  Romans 10:17.  It means that faith on any subject matter only begins with the knowledge of the Word of God on that subject matter.  Faith begins when the will of God is known.  Every believer has the responsibility to seek to know.  The Bible says:

“My son, attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings. Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart.” – Proverbs 4:20-21

Faith is a force of the spirit but it also has to do with the soul.  For instance, faith has to do with the five doors of the mind (that is, the five senses; sight, hearing, taste, smell and touch).  The text above made reference to two of the five senses; ear and eyes.  The Word of God must be kept in view; we must also keep hearing the Word of God.  The combination of sight and hearing will make the Word of God gain access to our heart.  The mind is the gateway to the heart.  The Bible says concerning the mind:

“But without thy mind would I do nothing; that thy benefit should not be as it were of necessity, but willingly.” – Philemon 1:14

It is the Word of God stored in the mind that will ever gain access to the heart.  But if we lose sight of the Word of God and we are not hearing and hearing the Word of God as we should, the Word of God will keep diminishing in our mind (which is supposed to be the buffer for the Word of God).

What will make the Word of God to keep diminishing if I am not seeing and hearing the Word of God regularly, one may ask.  As one loses sight of the Word of God, the eyes keeps seeing some other things and those things gain access to the mind to choke the Word of God that may have been stored there.  In the same way, as one stops hearing the Word of God, he is still hearing some other things like news, breaking news, other sounds and voices other than that of God.  Those things as well gain access to the mind to choke the Word of God in the mind.  At the end of the day, the Word never gains access to the heart which is the seat of faith.

Brethren, keep the Word of God within your sight; keep seeing the Word of God.  Remember, when Peter lost sight of the Living Word (Jesus Christ), his faith failed and he started sinking.  Matthew 14:29-31.  Keep hearing the Word of God.  When one stops hearing faith stops coming.  Romans 10:17.

Hearing and seeing the Word of God is a real time, life time requirement to keep us flowing in God’s kind of faith.  It takes faith to keep winning.  Matthew 9:29.  The strongest believer with big title will start losing when he stops hearing and seeing the Word of God.  Faith is fed by hearing and seeing the Word of God.

Receive the grace to keep hearing and seeing the Word of God.  Keep growing and keep winning in all areas of life.
