“Wherein ye greatly rejoice, though now for a season, if need be, ye are in heaviness through manifold temptations: That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ:” – I Peter 1:6-7

Brethren, trials are not ordained to destroy believers.  Sometimes trials come to give us the opportunity to reflect the glow of our light in the midst of thick darkness.  At other times, it could be part of the refining process to burn off impurities and prepare us for the glory package designed for us by God.  Trials, struggles, persecutions refine and strengthen our faith thereby turning us into the impregnable and indomitable warriors in the Hand of the Lord of hosts.

Friends, come out of the “why me?” syndrome.  We must respond to trials and challenges with a different scriptural mentality:

We must respond with confidence that God knows, plans, and direct our lives for good.  If the trial or challenge looks like backwardness; it is simply a backward stroke that moves a paddled canoe forward or steps back that gives an athlete the opportunity to scale the height.  God is always leading forward and toward a better future.

We must respond with perseverance when confronted with situations or circumstances that seem to challenge our faith.  We must refuse to give in to bitterness (against God or man), despair, or questioning God.  It is only temporal!  The tide is about turning in your favor.

We must respond with the courage that God is ever with us and He has vowed never to allow us to be tempted beyond our capacity to bear.  Another good news is that He has provided a way of escape from that contrary situation.  I Corinthians 10:13

Your trial of faith will soon become your triumph of faith.  The great miracle is a product of great faith and great faith is oftentimes a product of great trial.  Confront that negative situation with the truth that it has not come to stay; it has come to pass.  It is only temporal.  You are coming out victorious and very soon too.  Your breakthrough is imminent!
