Fire is a natural force that is capable of causing destruction.  When that force is managed it is also capable of becoming beneficial to humanity.  As a matter of fact, humanity benefit from the force of natural fire every day, if not every second but the other side of fire could be disastrous if not properly managed.

Fire a is dimension of God’s power.  God demonstrated His power to Moses to call him to the assignment of bringing the Israelites out of Egypt through a non-consuming fire.  The Bible says:

“And the angel of the LORD appeared unto him in a flame of fire out of the midst of a bush: and he looked, and, behold, the bush burned with fire, and the bush was not consumed. And Moses said, I will now turn aside, and see this great sight, why the bush is not burnt. And when the LORD saw that he turned aside to see, God called unto him out of the midst of the bush, and said, Moses, Moses. And he said, Here am I.” – Exodus 3:2-4

God’s presence was in the non-consuming bush within the fire!  God responded to Prophet Elijah’s prayer by fire to consume the burnt sacrifice, the wood, the stones, the dust and the water!  I Kings 18:38.  God also demonstrated His power by allowing fire to fall from heaven to roast One Hundred and Two soldiers sent by the king to arrest Prophet Elijah.  II Kings 1:9-12.  The Bible says that fire also purifies and refines:

“But who may abide the day of his coming? and who shall stand when he appeareth? for he is like a refiner’s fire, and like fullers’ soap: And he shall sit as a refiner and purifer of silver: and he shall purify the sons of Levi, and purge them as gold and silver, that they may offer unto the LORD an offering in righteousness.” – Malachi 3:2-3

John the Baptist gave a deep insight about the ministry of the Holy Spirit that believers would have access to, through our Lord Jesus Christ, he said:

“I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance: but he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire: Whose fan is in his hand, and he will throughly purge his floor, and gather his wheat into the garner; but he will burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire.” – Matthew 3:11-12

The fire would consume the chaff but would not devour the wheat.  Glory to God!  That must be a spiritually and physically intelligent fire unlike any other kind of fire.  As a matter of fact God is referred to as a consuming Fire!  Hebrews 12:29

Brethren, there is what to be, to be able to benefit from the fire dimension of the power of God.  Elijah (the renowned Prophet of “fire”) was man that stood with and for God with all sense of clarity and duty.  I Kings 18:21-24.  It is not enough to be shouting “Holy Ghost fire” in prayer and expecting fire to fall like in the case of Elijah; it is not even enough to be praying or singing that the Lord that answers by fire should be God or God of Elijah send down fire.  We must truly stand for God like Elijah did.  We must allow the fire to first purify and refine us from the inside so that we are able to offer unto the Lord an offering in righteousness.  Then, we can truly become beneficiaries of the fire dimension of God’s power!

Friends, our works will even be tried with fire.  We cannot be playing religion and politics in church and command the fire dimension of God’s power.  Many believers are satisfied with the social dimension of the Church and have lost focus or completely forgotten the core purpose of the body!  We must wake up!
