PECULIARITIES OF GOD’S POWER PART IV

PECULIARITIES OF GOD’S POWER PART IV

In every sovereign state around the world, the police force have peculiar uniform that not only identify them as employees of the state but also as law enforcement agents of the state.  In the same way, the armed forces have their specific uniform even for specific duties and assignment they are to carry out on the behalf of the state.  It is practically impossible to find anyone recruited into the police or the armed forces of any nation without uniform.  Another thing to note is that the uniform is given (under normal circumstances) by the state and not bought by the person recruited.

The anointing which is another dimension of God’s power is given to every believer.  Yes! I mean every believer!  The anointing serves three broad purposes;

  • To minister to God in the priest’s office

“And thou shalt put them upon Aaron thy brother, and his sons with him; and shalt anoint them, and consecrate them, and sanctify them, that they may minister unto me in the priest’s office.” – Exodus 28:41

“And thou shalt anoint them, as thou didst anoint their father, that they may minister unto me in the priest’s office: for their anointing shall surely be an everlasting priesthood throughout their generations.” – Exodus 40:15

Believers in the New Testament are raised as kings and priests.  Revelation 1:6; Revelation 5:10.

  • To stop and destroy the devils operation on the earth.

“And it shall come to pass in that day, that his burden shall be taken away from off thy shoulder, and his yoke from off thy neck, and the yoke shall be destroyed because of the anointing.” – Isaiah 10:27

“Saying, Touch not mine anointed, and do my prophets no harm.” – I Chronicles 16:22 (repeated verbatim in Psalm 105:15).

  • To minister to humanity and fulfil the specific divine agenda for the believer’s personal life.

“The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, To preach the acceptable year of the Lord.” – Luke 4:18-19.

(check also Isaiah 61:1-11)

This dimension of God’s power (the anointing) is not just for preaching, it is for living.  Just like no one is signed on into the police force or any of the armed forces of any nation without uniform and other things needed for the person’s successful operation, no king or priest is ordained (or recruited/signed on) into God’s military without being specifically anointed.

In the same way, the growth of anyone in any of the natural forces (police, armed forces) is a function of the individual’s performance at work (under normal condition).  Growth in the anointing is basically a function of individual believer’s responsibility.  It is important for me to mention here that religious title is not the anointing; it is just for administrative convenience.  It is possible to have a big title and be so small in anointing.

Dr. David Oyedepo said; “God is the Anointer”.  Every believer determines the level to which he or she is anointed.  Anointing is not gender specific; it is responsibility defined!  Friends, it is time we accepted responsibility for spiritual enabling called the anointing!  Struggling with sin, willful disobedience to God, lack of financial integrity and pride among others are known enemies of the anointing.  Choose to embrace sanctification.  Go all the way!
