PARTING WORDS OF CHRIST I
In most case (if not all cases) words spoken as parting words are very crucial especially when the person is going to be away for some time. Parting words are:
- Issues that represents most the important things of the heart;
- Issues that must never be forgotten;
- Issues that must be acted upon by the hearers;
The resurrected Jesus Christ before His ascension to heaven told the disciples directly and specifically:
“Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the world.” – Matthew 28:19-20
The issues of the heart of the resurrected Jesus Christ that must never be forgotten but must be acted upon by the then disciples and the future ones (you and I) is to teach all nations. But what? You may ask? To teach them the way, the truth and the life without which no one can get to the Father.
Jesus Christ said:
“…I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” – John 14:6
If you have not accepted Jesus Christ yet as your Lord and personal savior, you need to do that now so that you can get to the Father. You need the Father to have all your needs met both on the earth and in eternity.
If you have already accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, what are you doing to the parting word of the Lord? Draw a program of personal outreach today and genuinely give yourself to it, and begin to harvest the blessings of obedience.
