“And to the angel of the church in Philadelphia write; These things saith he that is holy, he that is true, he that hath the key of David, he that openeth, and no man shutteth; and shutteth, and no man openeth; I know thy works: behold, I have set before thee an open door, and no man can shut it: for thou hast a little strength, and hast kept my word, and hast not denied my name.” – Revelation 3:7-8

God does not just open doors, He keeps them opened.  He opens and no one can shut.  Oh! This is interesting.  No matter who is not happy with the opened doors; they cannot do anything against it.  Also, when He shuts, no one can open.

Brethren, God said He has kept an opened door before you that no man can shut it.  It means that God has given you and me unlimited access to advancement, progress and growth.  The door is not opened because of your strength, no, not because of your wisdom.  As a matter of fact, God saw that you have a little strength and that you would not be able to open the door; that is why he decided to open the door on your behalf.

Friends, there are two things to look at closely in our text today; “…and hast kept my word, and hast not denied my name”.  We may not have the strength to open the door but we have been given the power of choice.  Deuteronomy 30:19.  We have the ability to choose to obey God and we have the capability to choose to uphold his name.

We must choose to obey God’s instructions at all times.  As a matter of fact, obeying God’s instructions should be our delight.  We must choose to proclaim His name among the people.  That is, we must preach the Gospel to win souls into His kingdom.  Then, we will never lack opened doors.  No matter who is not happy with you or with good doors opened to you; the good doors will ever remain opened.  Before you recover from one testimony, another bigger one shall be delivered and that continues ad infinitum.
