NEW SONG PART V
“O sing unto the LORD a new song; for he hath done marvelous things: his right hand, and his holy arm, hath gotten him the victory. The LORD hath made known his salvation: his righteousness hath he openly showed in the sight of the heathen. He hath remembered his mercy and his truth toward the house of Israel: all the ends of the earth have seen the salvation of our God. Make a joyful noise unto the LORD, all the earth: make a loud noise, and rejoice, and sing praise. Sing unto the LORD with the harp; with the harp, and the voice of a psalm. With trumpets and sound of cornet make a joyful noise before the LORD, the King. Let the sea roar, and the fulness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein. Let the floods clap their hands: let the hills be joyful together Before the LORD; for he cometh to judge the earth: with righteousness shall he judge the world, and the people with equity.” – Psalm 98:1-9
The natural thing to do when we want to see new things is to take natural steps but the scriptural thing to do to see the new thing is to sing a new song unto the Lord to make the new things happen. For instance, the only new thing that anyone critically sick in the hospital wants to happen is to get healed; the only new thing that anyone in the prison wants to see happen is freedom from captivity.
The easiest way to command the marvelous acts of God is to sing a new song unto Him. Paul and Silas were incarcerated and probably kept for execution the following day. Rather than crying for help from man, reaching out to people of influence who could help secure their release or crying in self-pity and waiting passively for the executioner; they took the case to God in prayer and chose to sing a new song to God as a follow-up to or in conclusion to their prayer. Our text today was practically fulfilled for Paul and Silas; the right hand of the Lord got Him victory for the duo; He openly showed forth His power among the heathen. They sang loud and boldly to God and He delivered them openly. They were supernaturally released and suddenly became saviors to the jailer and the members of his family.
Friends, everything answers to God. The Lord is for you. He is not against you. He is aware of your situation. He has something great for you. Stop responding to things around you naturally, respond to them scripturally. You can open a new chapter to your life by singing a new song to God. Not just a sporadic act of singing but a continuous manifestation of the melody and gratitude in your heart.
No matter what you are going through; do this with me, close your eyes and say: God is good! Jesus is Lord! Repeat ten times. You will discover that the freshness of God’s lovingkindness will overwhelm your heart into singing a new song to Him!
Your testimony is imminent!
