NEW SONG PART IV
“Sing, O heavens; and be joyful O earth; and break forth into singing, O mountains: for the LORD hath comforted his people, and will have mercy upon his afflicted. But Zion said, The LORD hath forsaken me, and my Lord hath forgotten me. Can a woman forget her sucking child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb? yea, they may forget, yet will I not forget thee. Behold, I have graven thee upon the palms of my hands; thy walls are continually before me.” – Isaiah 49:13-16
The Lord has vowed to comfort His people. That means God has vowed to make life comfortable for the saints. He has promised to have mercy upon the afflicted. No matter the source of the affliction (be it lawful or unlawful), God will have mercy upon His saints.
Brethren, stop thinking that the Lord has forgotten you. From our text today, Zion is saying that the Lord has “forsaken me” and “my God has forgotten me”. Please note that Zion is the New Testament Church of Jesus Christ. Hebrews 12:22-24. God is saying that it is impossible for Him to forget you because it is naturally difficult for a woman to forget her sucking child. Even if a woman forgets her sucking child (as a result of a horrible situation or circumstance), God said it is impossible for Him to forget you because He has decided to “graven” you upon the palm of His hands and has kept your picture as a wall continually before Him.
Friends, break forth into singing; the Lord will give you comfort on all sides. He will remove all afflictions and will take them far away from you. Whatever looks like discomfort around you is turning around to comfort and whatever is a source of concern in your life will soon turn to testimony. It is impossible for God to forsake you. Never allow the enemy of God to make you feel that you have been forsaken by God. God Himself has made it impossible for Him to forsake or to forget you.
Against all odds, sing a new song to the Lord! It is another way of demonstrating your faith and trust in Him. Anywhere God sees faith, He responds by revealing his Arm. Remember, God does only wondrous things.
Yours is the next testimony!
