“I waited patiently for the LORD, and he inclined unto me, and heard my cry. He brought me up also out of a horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my goings. And he hath put a new song in my mouth, even praise unto our God: many shall see it, and fear, and shall trust in the LORD.” – Psalm 40:1-3

Waiting for something so desired could be so challenging.  It would be more challenging when waiting makes the “waiter” looks like a failure or someone that seemed abandoned by God because of his numerous sins and shortcomings before God.  Job was patient.  He said:

“If a man die, shall he live again? all the days of my appointed time will I wait, till my change come.” – Job 14:14

However, Job’s friend thought he was being punished for his sins that were not known to them but clearly known to God.  But Job’s suffering was purely as a result of satan’s attack.  Job 1:11-12; Job 2:5-7.  One can imagine the pain Job went through, not just because of the afflictions of satan but also the mockery of his friends.

Brethren, God brought Job out of the horrible pit of satanic affliction and set his feet upon the rock to establish his goings. The tide turned for Job when God made him the savior of his mockers.  God put a new song in his mouth and did a fearful thing in his life when He gave Job double of all his possession before the attack.  Job 42:10-16.

Friends, Job’s daughters were the most beautiful in the land.  He had seven sons and three daughters.  He lived 140 years to enjoy the blessing.  He lived long enough to see his children’s children to the fourth generation.  He was full of days when he died.

I have good news for you, no matter the situation or circumstance around you now; the Lord will put a new song in your mouth.  You will not just see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living, the Lord will bring you out of the horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and establish your goings.  The Lord will do things in your life and family that will make all around you to fear Him.  His acts in your life will give many believers a solid platform to trust God.

Wait patiently on Him.  He has heard you; He is hearing the cry of your prayer.  It is your turn to sing a new song!
