As God’s heirs, believers can claim what God has and has provided.  As joint-heirs with Christ we can manifest our full potentials in God as Christ’s.  Jesus Christ boldly declared that all that the Father has were His.  John 16:15.  The Bible also says that He knew that God (the Father) had given unto Him all things.  John 13:3. However, believers’ heirship is at the mercy of not just who we are but how we live.  The Bible says:

“By faith Noah, being warned of God of things not seen as yet, moved with fear, prepared an ark to the saving of his house; by the which he condemned the world, and became heir of righteousness which is by faith.” – Hebrews 11:7

In a wicked world of his time, Noah found grace in the eyes of the Lord because his life style was different from his neighbors.  The Bible says:

“But Noah found grace in the eyes of the LORD.  These are the generations of Noah: Noah was a just man and perfect in his generations, and Noah walked with God.” – Genesis 6:8-10

Noah, who was recognized among the heroes of faith as an heir of righteousness lived in a world so full of wickedness that the merciful and compassionate God was fed up and decided to wipe out every living creature because of the wickedness of man. Genesis 6:5-7

Heirs of God and joint-heirs with Christ are meant to be heirs of righteousness just like Noah irrespective of where we live.  Jesus Christ; our Master was declared to be the Son of God with power, according to the Spirit of holiness.  Romans 1:4

It is not enough to think about our heirship as believers in terms of possessing divine inheritance; we must also think of it in terms of responsibility to live holy.  We cannot claim the heirship of a thrice holy God and continue to live in the mire of iniquity.  We cannot claim to be joint-heir with Christ who knew no sin and have a life style that is diametrically opposed that of Christ.  II Corinthians 5:21

If Noah could stand out in his generation; any believer who chooses to can, in any generation. Believers in Christ are even more equipped and empowered to stand out because of the finished work of redemption that Jesus Christ accomplished.
