GROW OR GROAN V

GROW OR GROAN V

“For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.  Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and justice from henceforth even for ever.  The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this.”  – Isaiah 9:6-7

This prophecy is about Jesus Christ.  The government shall be upon His shoulder as a son not as a child.  The shoulder (as we all know) is part of the body.  Jesus Christ is the head; the Church is His body.  Ephesians 1:20-23; Ephesians 5:23.  From the analysis, the government is meant to be on the Church (which is the body of Christ).  Government connotes ruling body of a nation.  The implication here is that the ruling body on the earth in this end-time will be the church.  This is validated in the following scriptures:

“And it shall come to pass in the last days, that the mountain of the LORD’s house shall be established in the top of the mountains, and shall be exalted above the hills; and all nations shall flow into it.  And many people shall go and say, Come ye, and let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, to the house of the God of Jacob; and he will teach us his ways, and we will walk in his paths: for out of Zion shall go forth the law, and the word of the LORD from Jerusalem.” – Isaiah 2:2-3

Repeated in Micah 4:1-2

Authority shall be domiciled in the body of Christ which is the church.  The implication of this is that members of the church will begin to take position as men and women of dominion and authority in different areas of human endeavors.  The church will be in charge of affairs of the world.  It is important to mention here that only members of the church that are mature will be part of exercising dominion while children in the church will be ruled like any unbeliever in the world.  The Bible says:

“Woe to thee, O land, when thy king is a child, and thy princes eat in the morning.” – Ecclesiastes 10:16

It will be out of order to see a president of a nation or a king being a four year old running around the street on scooter.  That will be un-presidential and unroyal.

Every believer that will be part of the end-time governance of the world in the church must accept responsibility to grow.

For instance toying with sin and going about with spiritual weights are signs of spiritual growth deficiency.  Sons obey rules; children carelessly break them at will.

Choose to be an obedient believer; accept responsibility to grow; groaning under the pressure of disobedience can be very costly!

Scriptures for meditation:  Deuteronomy 28:1-14
