GRATITUDE PART V

 

“It is a good thing to give thanks unto the LORD, and to sing praises unto thy name, O most High: To shew forth thy lovingkindness in the morning, and thy faithfulness every night,” – Psalm 92:1-2.

The morning hours of the day represent the beginning of the day.  It is a good thing to give thanks for the lovingkindness of God at the beginning of everyday.  The first month of the year and the following ones could be likened to the “morning” of the year.  Therefore, it is a good thing to start the month and the year by doing the good thing which is giving thanks for God’s lovingkindness.

Brethren, God demonstrated His faithfulness in the previous year and years.  It is a good thing to end every year with unreserved gratitude; it is also a good thing to begin every year with gratitude to God who remains ever loving and kind irrespective of man’s inconsistencies.

Friends, giving thanks to God to show forth His lovingkindness at the beginning of the year is sowing a gift of gratitude that qualifies the grateful to begin to reap the harvest of lovingkindness throughout the year.  If God allowed you to see the morning; it means that He has something for you all through the day.  While it is good to begin to catch visions for the year; it is also not out of place to put plans and resolution for the year in place.  It is most crucial to consciously appreciate God for His lovingkindness.

The lovingkindness of God flows with the mercies of God.  It qualifies man God’s blessing   The lovingkindness of the positions man to benefit from the good plans of God.  It is worth returning all the glory to God for His lovingkindness which is what made it possible for anyone to see the morning of any day or early hours of any year.

Father, thank You for Your lovingkindness!  All the glory and honor is to Your holy Name!
