A song writer says:

“Count your blessings name them one by one and it will surprise you what the Lord has done.”

With few hours remaining to enter the New Year; it is a time to take stock (if you have not done or have been doing this before now) of what God has done.  The Psalmist was communing within himself:

“Bless the LORD, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name.  Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits: Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases; who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with lovinkindness and tender mercies; Who satisfieth thy mouth with good things; so that thy youth is renewed like the eagle’s.” – Psalm 103:1-5

It is easy to remember many things that have not been done or accomplished in 2015; this is taking the wrong stock.  It can only lead to wrong act – ingratitude.  No matter where you are now; what has happened or has not happened; you must not forget God’s benefits.

It is interesting to know that God has been consistently and faithfully loading you with His benefits for about 365 days now.  Psalm 68:19.

Let us look at this; you pay ‘airtime’ on your phone monthly or as you use otherwise you lose the service.  You have been breathing in and out as many times (you can count) per minute; for those number of days, yet, you have not received a bill for ‘airtime’ and the service has not been severed.  God’s wisdom says:

“In everything give thanks: for this is the will of God concerning you.” – I Thessalonians 5:18

For all His benefits; give thanks.  In whatever situation you are right now; give thanks.  This is how to end the year on a glorious note; this is ending the year in obedience.  As you obey this simple scriptural truth; that is your spiritual positioning for a glorious experience in 2016.  God’s wisdom says:

“For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise.” – Hebrews 10:36

As you keep returning all the glory to God (which is His will needed to be done to receive the promise), get set to move from GLORY TO GLORY and roll from one quantum leap to another in 2016.

See you next year!
