GOD DELIGHTS IN HIS SERVANTS V

GOD DELIGHTS IN HIS SERVANTS V

Jesus is our perfect example through His earthly walk.  He took the form of a man; was tempted in all points like we are yet without sin.  Hebrews 4:15.  He was the begotten of God.  John 3:16.  The Bible called Him the Firstborn among many brethren (believers are the “many brethren”).  Romans 8:29; Hebrews 12:23.  Just like every believer is born into the family of God, Jesus was born into the family of God.  Isaiah 9:6.  He chose to serve to leave us with a perfect example of a most rewarding lifestyle.  He said:

“But ye shall not be so: but he that is greatest among you, let him be as the younger; and he that is chief, as he that doth serve.  For whether is greater, he that sitteth at meat, or he that serveth? is not he that sitteth at meat? but I am among you as he that serve.” – Luke 22:26-67

He said that He was among them as a servant.  He served to the point of laying down His life for humanity.  He earned the love of the Father through service.  John 10:17.  He secured the Father’s delight through service.  The Father could not hide His delight at His baptism; He said:

“And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.” – Matthew 3:17

This was repeated almost verbatim at the mountain of transfiguration:

“While he yet spake, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them: and behold a voice out of the cloud, which said, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased; hear ye him.” – Matthew 17:5

God was so delighted in Jesus that He (God the Father) gave Him (God the Son) a name above every other name in all realms, in all ages, and in all generations.  Philippians 2:9-11.  This is an indication that there is no limit to which God would lift, promote, and elevate His servants.  The greater the depth of a believer’s servanthood; the higher the believer flies in the journey of destiny.

If you are reading this piece and you have not received Jesus Christ into your heart as your Lord and personal Savior; today is your day of salvation.  Go to the salvation page on our website; say the prayer there and be in church next Sunday to consolidate your decision.  Your journey to a most exciting life has just started and you have the privilege of reigning with Christ in eternity.

If Jesus (God the Son) had to serve His way to becoming the Father’s delight and consequently the greatest man that ever walked on the earth; every believer must follow the pattern to obtain the same result.  As a believer, get on the “service lane” today; that’s where to be to secure and retain the Father’s love.  You can never miss it serving God; you can only make it serving Him.

God may do somethings for His children but He would do just anything for His children that have decided to serve Him.  He drowned the entire host of Egypt and Had His children (Israelites) spoilt Egyptians on the strength of service.  When they were prepared to serve God; God was prepared to level all their taskmasters.  Exodus 7-14.

Scriptures for meditation:  Deuteronomy 11:13-15

Jesus is LORD!
