GOD CANNOT LIE V
The Bible says:
“Seek ye the Lord while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near: Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the Lord, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon. For my thoughts are nor your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts. For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater: So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.” – Isaiah 55:6-11
It is easy to zero in on verses 10 and 11 of the above scriptures to ‘compel’ God to fulfill His promises in our lives. God’s word must not be ‘molded’ to fit into our plans; He will not bend His rules for anyone. He cannot lie. Instead, we must allow His word to mold us and fit us into His plans. The same God that cannot lie to fulfill His promises concerning us, will also not lie enforce (or allow) sanctions where we go contrary to the provisions in His word.
God has vowed that His counsel shall stand and what He declared is what shall be performed. Isaiah 46:10-11. This should strengthen our faith as we walk with Him. It should also make a believer have sober reflection so as to work his/her salvation with fear and trembling. Phil. 2:12.
God is to be feared above all gods. Psalm 96:4. Those who take God’s grace for granted may end up in eternal disgrace.
The race of Christianity is a race of responsibility. Only responsible believers fare well in the race and end up with the prize of eternal splendor with God.
