GOD CANNOT LIE I

GOD CANNOT LIE I

“Paul, a servant of God, and an apostle of Jesus Christ, according to the faith of God’s elect, and the acknowledging of the truth which is after godliness; in the hope of eternal life, which God that cannot lie, promised before the world began.” Titus 1:1-2

God cannot lie.  He is the source of all truth.  There is no iota or atom of lie in Him.  It goes without saying that whatever God says is what shall be.  Whatever He declares is what stands.  God will forever keep His promises.

The implication of this nature of God can have a positive or negative effect on mankind.  For instance, God that cannot lie says; “Say ye unto the righteous, that it shall be well with him: for they shall eat the fruit of their doings” – Isaiah 3:10.  No matter who is working against the righteous; “…it shall be well…”  The righteous would never be stranded because God (who cannot lie) has said that they (the righteous) shall eat the fruit of their doing.  As long as the righteous maintains his status (as a righteous), what God says must come to pass.  All the witches, wizards, occult, and all the forces of hell cannot stop it.

On the other hand; God (the source of all truth) says; “Woe unto the wicked! It shall be ill with him: for the reward of his hands shall be given him.” – Isaiah 3:11.  The implication of this is that no matter who is “praying” for the wicked, as long as he maintains his status in wickedness; what God says about him must come to pass.

Righteousness is self-beneficial; wickedness is self-destructive!  It is both encouraging as it is refreshing as a righteous to know that all shall turn out well, irrespective of what has happened or is happening to the contrary.

It also calls for serious caution and repentance to know that no matter the ‘good’ experienced in or through wickedness; the end is gloom, tragedy, and misfortune.

Where do you stand?  Remember, God cannot lie!
