FEEDING THE LORD? 4
“Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth, fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye may ask of the Father in my name, he may give it to you.” – John 15:16
Many have the notion that they chose to be Christians; well, to some extent. However, Jesus Christ said He chose every believer first before the believer made his/her choice to be a child of God (Romans 8:29-30). You did not just decide to answer the Altar call to surrender your life to Jesus Christ after that beautiful sermon; Jesus Christ chose you to be part of His kingdom before you ever came. Many heard the gospel that day that you thought you decided for Christ but never responded (probably because they were not chosen) but you did because Jesus Christ chose you. He chose us and ordained (appointed) us for specific reasons of:
- Bringing forth fruit and;
- Ensuring that the fruit remains.
Therefore, there is no jobless believer. Every believer is an employee of God. If we can see and understand it that way. We were saved by God and employed by Him to bring forth fruit and work to see that the fruit remains. The job description is soul winning and establishment. The remuneration and emoluments are also very clear from scriptures. Many believers read but don’t ever see this.
Take some time to meditate on our text today – John 15:16
Jesus is Lord!
