ENEMY’S ATTACK ON FAITH V

ENEMY’S ATTACK ON FAITH V

Jesus Christ said:

“And shall not God avenge his own elect, which cry day and night unto him, though he bear long with them?  I tell you that he will avenge them speedily.  Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth?” – Luke 18:7-8

The enemy’s attack on faith in this end time shall become more intense than ever before.  The enemy knows that he has but a short time left; therefore, he will release his deadliest weapons against the most powerful force of the spirit available to man – faith!  Revelation 12:12.

We understand from scriptures that the end-time is the time of peril; the enemy will attack people with love for self rather than love for God and diverse manifestation of the spirit of iniquity.  II Timothy 3:1-5; I Timothy 4:1-3.  The enemy know that faith will never work without a good conscience.

“Holding faith, and a good conscience; which some having put away concerning faith have made shipwreck:” – I Timothy 1:19

Faith will always demand good conscience to produce good report.  The message of faith and the message of holiness is one and the same message.  God does not hate sinners but He hates sins.  His eyes are too pure to behold iniquity.  Hab. 1:13.  It is obvious that sin does not please God; sin stings and sin stinks.  I Corinthians 15:56.  The enemy knows this very well; he is called the man of sin.  II Thes. 2:3. Therefore, the enemy attacks believers with the deceitfulness and temporary pleasures of sin to destroy their faith.  Let no man be deceived; sin will sink any believer’s faith that allows it.  The cure is to keep the word in the heart, submit oneself totally unto God and consistently exercise oneself into godliness.  Psalm 119:11; James 4:7; I Timothy 4:7-8.  Never expect to be in faith when sin reigns!

Among others, the enemy attacks believers’ faith with sorrow of the heart.  In most cases, this is borne out of ingratitude.  If one is grateful; he/she will be joyful.  If one is joyful; he/she will be praiseful.  If one is both grateful and praiseful, one’s faith will produce wonders.  As a matter of fact, gratitude is a demonstration of faith just like praise is a practical demonstration of faith as well.  The one leper that returned (out of the ten cleansed) to give thanks to Jesus for his cleansing was said to have demonstrated faith because Jesus said unto him that “…thy faith has made thee whole…”  Luke 17:15-19

Abraham, our patriarch of faith was also said to be giving glory to God (praising Him) and as a result, he was said to have not staggered in his faith but was fully persuaded though the promise seemed delayed for twenty five years before it was delivered.  Romans 4:17-21.

Therefore, be aware from today that every urge to sin is an attack on your faith by the devil; every moment you are downcast is another attack on your faith from the pit of hell.  Refuse to be defiled and you will never be defeated; refuse to be downcast for any reason.  Count your blessings, name them one by one and it will surprise you what the Lord has done just like the song writer says.

Your faith will not fail!
