CHOSEN AND ORDAINED IV

Believers are called, chosen and ordained.  We shall look at the word “ordained” from a different perspective today; it means to be set apart for a specific task.  For instance, priests and elders are set apart for the task of ministering before the Lord.  The Bible says:

“And when they had ordained them elders in every church, and had prayed with fasting, they commended them to the Lord, on whom they believed.” – Act 14:23

Let us also consider the following scripture:

“For every high priest taken from among men is ordained for men in things pertaining to God, that he may offer both gifts and sacrifices for sins:” – Hebrews 5:1

Believers are called, chosen and set apart to minister to and before God.  It means spiritual stewardship is the core reason for believers’ ordination.  The focal point of spiritual stewardship is soul winning, soul ingathering and soul establishment.  No wonder that the Bible says that believers have been made kings and priestsunto God.  Revelation 1:6; Revelation 5:10.

Soul winning, soul ingathering and soul establishment represent the core priestly assignment of believers.  All believers are set apart (consecrated) for that purpose.  It means that there are unique gifts that God packaged into every believer to get the job done.  There is no believer that is “gift less”. The Bible says:

“For the kingdom of heaven is as a man travelling into a far country, who called his own servants, and delivered unto them his goods.  And unto one he gave five talents, to another two, and to another one; to every man according to his several ability; and straightway took his journey.” – Matthew 25:14-15.

The scripture says that He gave to “…every man according to his several ability…”  There is a popular saying that no two individuals are the same; every man is unique.  Every believer’s given “talent(s)” is the believer’s mark of distinction from others.  The “talent(s)” set a believer apart for the core spiritual assignment of drawing many into the kingdom of God.  Daniel 12:3.

Many believers think that their uniqueness and peculiarity is just meant for show off to the world.  Not really! Believers’ uniqueness and peculiarity is given to reach out to some specific people for Jesus.

Every believer is (ordained) set apart to reach out some people for Christ.  Every believer may not be able to win every kind of people to Christ but every believer is equipped to win certain kind of people for the kingdom.

As a believer, look inwards, you have been given talent(s) to win certain category of people to the kingdom.  You must discover it and don’t stop at discovery; you must engage the talent(s).

If you are reading this and you are yet to accept Jesus as your Lord and personal Savior; the reason God allowed you to read this today is that God is calling you; when you accept the call, you become one of the few chosen out of the many called. Accept the call today; go straight to the salvation page on our website, say the prayer there and be in church next Sunday to consolidate your decision.  It is the best decision anyone can ever make.  You will soon discover that you are heavily gifted to draw many into the kingdom of God.

As believers, you cannot afford to waste or bury the talent(s); it is dangerous to do so. There is something in you that God put there for the purpose of soul winning, soul ingathering and soul establishment.  Begin to use it now and enter into the joy fulfilment.  Remember, you are set apart for this purpose!
