The scriptures makes it clear that believers are not just called but chosen. The Bible says:
“But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:” – I Peter 2:9
Believers are chosen and ordained to show forth the praises of God. We have established from scriptures that being ordained could mean being appointed to work. It could also mean being empowered or equipped to carry out specific assignment(s). Acts 1:8. Therefore, believers are chosen and empowered to engage in activities that show forth the praises of God. The Bible says that God is honored when multitudes of people come to Him.
“In the multitude of people is the king’s honour: but in the want of people is the destruction of the prince.” – Proverbs 14:28
God is the King of kings. He is honored when multitudes flow to Him. That means anyone involved in bringing people to God is honoring Him. Honoring God by winning souls into His kingdom is the greatest praise a believer can give to God not mere singing empty songs of praise and disobeying Him in many areas.
As a matter of fact, showing forth the praises of God is a royal duty of the believers. Believers often get excited at the revelation of being a member of royal priesthood of God; being kings and priests to reign on the earth. Revelation 1:6; Revelation 5:10. This is great!
It would be an incomplete revelation if believers do not know or pay attention to the royal duties. Negligence of duties of a king or a priest would not always yield pleasant results.
For instance, at new birth; believers are born of the Spirit. John 3:6. At Holy Ghost baptism with the evidence of speaking with new tongues; believers receive the Spirit ‘upon’, which connotes empowerment to carry out the royal assignment of witnessing. Mark 16:17; Acts 1:8. It is expected that the empowerment should not be kept latent but engaged to carry out the assignment. No one lights a candle and puts it under the bushel but on a candle stick. Luke 11:33
It is not enough to keep junketing, jumping and singing around town that you are a chosen generation and royal priesthood; while that is true, if you are a believer, you must pay attention to the royal assignment to fully manifest the divine royalty.
If you are reading this and you have not received Jesus Christ into your heart as your Lord and personal Savior; it means only one thing, that, Jesus Christ is calling you now, you can be among the few chosen out of the many he calls.
