We understand from scriptures that God made man in His image, after His likeness.  Genesis 1:26-28.  He gave man ‘accommodation’ in the best of the best; His planted garden in the east of Eden.  Eden literarily means God’s delight; the garden planted eastward of Eden was a showcase of the magnificent beauty of God (heaven on the earth).  A place designed to be fully enjoyed by man.

“And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and man became a living soul. And the LORD God planted a garden eastward in Eden, and there he put the man whom he had formed.” – Genesis 2:7-8

Man lost all these but got it back in a better way through Jesus Christ.  Everything lost in the first Adam was gained in the last Adam.  I Corinthians 15:45.  Believers are back to the garden planted by the “…LORD God…eastward in Eden…”  Man’s dominion over the earth that was lost in the first Adam was regained in the last Adam.  Genesis 1:26-28.  Believers are raised as kings and priests to reign on the earth.  Revelation 5:10.  The first Adam had dominion to reign over all creatures; to dress the garden (of Eden) and to keep it.  Genesis 2:15.  Believers have the mandate to reign as kings and minister as priests on the earth.

It is a primary royal duty of believers to attract more people into the kingdom by sharing Christ with them.  Talk about the redemptive work of Jesus Christ:

  • He was slain;
  • He redeemed the world with His Blood;
  • He gathered them into His kingdom;
  • He made them priests and kings;
  • He appointed believers to reign upon the earth.

This is how to ‘dress and keep’ the ‘garden’ as New Testament believers.  We are members of a unique and peculiar group the ‘choicest’ to locate others and have them experience the beauty of abundant life that Jesus Christ brought to the world.  This must not be confined to the four walls of our Churches.  We must shout it on the mountain top!  The world is waiting for you; Jesus expects you to blow the trumpet!

Scriptures for meditation: Genesis 1:26-28; Revelation 1:6; Revelation 5:10

Jesus is Lord!
