Prophet Elijah, inspired by the Holy Spirit asked a direct question on Mount Carmel before the showdown with the false prophets of Baal:

“And Elijah came unto all the people, and said, How long halt ye between two opinions? if the LORD be God, follow him: but if Baal, then follow him. And the people answered him not a word.” – I Kings 18:21

This question is as relevant to us today that are reading the written word of God as it was relevant to those that heard Prophet Elijah spoke on Mount Carmel.  It is easy for a contemporary believer to dismiss the question and assume that it was meant for obvious idol worshippers or unbelievers.  However, just like it is with any word of God; the scriptures is meant to be studied and obeyed with diligence.  Deuteronomy 28:1.

Prophet Elijah challenged the people to take a stand to follow whoever was the true God.  Today, even many believers are caught up between opinions: opinions of professionals and those that are of God; opinions of professional prophets and those that are of God.

The reason why so many people hop between opinions is because they are not sure of where they stand.  They continue to waver between options.  They want to try all options available.  God is not to be tried; He is to be trusted.  Those that try God eventually end up in trial.  Those that trust Him end up being entrusted with His grace, daily benefits for abundant life and the pleasure of eternity.

Dr David Oyedepo says: “If it ceases being God alone, it is not God at all”.  A believer cannot claim to be following God and always running with plan “B”.  Those that have options outside God are those that waver and tossed, they are the people that would never receive anything from God.

Therefore, they continue to live frustrated life even as so called believers.  They may appear religious to fellow believers, they may be involved in religious activities but if the devil is able to sell the idea of “options” to them; the enemy has gotten an upper hand over them.

If satan is not able to deceive any believer; he cannot defeat the believer.  Only those that hold fast to the profession of their faith end up with testimony not those that are caught up between opinions.

If you are a believer reading this, refuse to pay attention or consider any idea of having “Plan B”.  This may be rationally sound and reasonable in the world but it is a path that ends up in the middle of ‘nowhere’ when it comes to God’s kingdom.
