CAPTIVITY-TURNING GOD III

The captivity-turning power of God works beyond human reasoning and
comprehension. It is not limited by natural, economic, social, political or
any other obstacle common to mankind because of the obvious reason of
the Omnipotence nature of the source. The captivity-turning power of
God works with heaven’s kind of speed that cannot be compared with
any, on the earth not even the speed of light.
The captivity-turning power of God was let loose through a prophecy
released from the mouth of Prophet Elisha:
“Then Elisha said, hear ye the word of the Lord; thus saith the Lord,
tomorrow about this time shall a measure of fine flour be sold for a
shekel, and two measures of barley for a shekel, in the gate of Samaria.
Then the lord on whose hand the king leaned answered the man of God,
and said, behold, if the Lord would make windows in heaven, might this
thing be? And he said, behold, thou shalt see it with thine eyes, but shalt
not eat thereof.” – II Kings 7:1-2
Samaria had being under the siege of a great and uncommon famine, the
kind that turned some mothers to carnivores (boiling and eating their
own children). II Kings 6:24-31. Then came the captivity turning power
of God through a prophecy that the situation would be reversed in
twenty four hours. This is a big deal for human mind to comprehend but
never a big deal to God.
The king’s economic adviser tried to figure out how that captivity-turning
power of God would make happen what had been declared but that was
his undoing. We are not called to reason out how God would do
whatever He says. We are called to simply believe whatever God says.
Luke 1:45

God’s thoughts are higher than our thoughts, His ways are higher than
our ways. Isaiah 55:8-9. God can use anything (as His hand) to do
whatever He wants to do. As a matter of fact, He could use the unlikely
to deliver the uncommon; He could use the rejected to deliver the
naturally impossible.
Your academic and intellectual capacity can never be adequate to figure
out how God does His work. Ecclesiastes 11:5. In our main text today,
God used four lepers as ‘His captivity-turning Hand’ to turn the captivity
of the great famine in Samaria into great abundance. Rather than being a
beneficiary of the divine abundance, the king’s economic adviser ended
up a casualty of the ‘captivity-turning Hand of God’; he was trampled
upon and he died. II Kings 7:19-20. He saw the abundance as prophesied
but never partook of it.
If you are already a child of God and reading this; the captivity-turning
power of God is released in your direction to turn any unwanted situation
around you for good in a record time. Don’t figure out how it will
happen, just believe and you will see the salvation of the Lord
irrespective of how seemingly impossible that situation looks like.
If you are not a child of God yet, please visit our salvation page and follow
the instructions there. The captivity-turning power of God will make a
saint out of you and any other thing that should turn in your life shall be
turned by the same power.
If God turned the captivity of a whole city in just twenty four hours, His
Hand is stretched out to perform yours in less than twenty four hours.
Just believe!
