The Bible says:

“Because I have called, and ye refused; I have stretched out my hand, and no man regarded; But ye have set at nought all my counsel, and would none of my reproof: I also will laugh at your calamity; I will mock when your fear cometh; When your fear cometh as desolation, and your destruction cometh as a whirlwind; when distress and anguish cometh upon you. Then shall they call upon me, but I will not answer; they shall seek me early, but they shall not find me:” – Proverbs 1:24-28

It is not every call in whatever looks like prayer that God answers to, let alone responds before the call is made.  When man refuses the call of God and turns his back on His instructions of love; that man has positioned himself against God.

It is easy to run to God in the face of challenges but if God is not God enough to instruct you in all areas and get your unalloyed obedience, then, you are not good enough for His answers.  Even seeking God in the face of calamities would amount to effort in futility if you will not obey Him.

God is not a mean God; He is a loving God but He is still a just God.  He has given the key of His response towards us to every individual.  The key is called “choice”.  In other words, you determine what happens to you by what you choose.  The Bible says:

“I love them that love me; and those that seek me early shall find me.” – Proverbs 8:17

Someone may say; “I thought the Bible says that God so love the world and He gave His only begotten Son…”, that is true, God has universal love for the world and expects the world to reciprocate His love by responding positively to His instructions.  You cannot ignore God and escape the devil.  In fact, ignoring God is actually dinning with the devil whether knowingly or unknowingly.  As a matter of emphasis, please know that the devil has nothing good for humanity; he means evil for everyone and anyone, he is got nothing good up his sleeves.

The ultimate in prayer is to have “…all these things…” that the Gentiles seek after added unto you without you having to chase, hunt and pursue after them like many people do.  However, as believers, we should always take stock and evaluate ourselves using the parameters of His word.  If you are asking and not receiving; calling and not getting answers when you are supposed to be in the company of …before they call, I will answer; and why they are yet speaking, I will hear.” (Isaiah 65:24); you should ask yourself “have I been ignoring God in any way or in any area; have I turned deaf hear to his instructions in any way?”  God is a God of knowledge.  I Samuel 2:3.

What about His direct and clear instructions on soul winning? How have you handled His clear instruction of seeking Him and the interest of His kingdom first?  Matthew 6:33.  You can turn your prayer altar into an altar of success, spiritual fun and adventure by taking heed to God’s instructions and applying yourself to them.
