“…AND HIS NAME SHALL BE CALLED…” PART III
“Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.” – Isaiah 7:14
The sign was not an idea. The sign was practically fulfilled. The Bible says:
“Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.” – Matthew 1:23
God has promised at different times in His word never to leave us nor forsake us. Deuteronomy 31:6. He promised that no matter what we are going through, He will always be there for us.
“When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee.” – Isaiah 43:2
Brethren, the birth of Emmanuel is a practical fulfilment of God’s commitment to be with us irrespective of what we are going through and where we are at any point in time. God decided not just to give a name to His commitment (to be with us) but gave his personality to back up His commitment to be with us.
Friends, if all believers would maintain God’s presence consciousness at all times; getting frightened, discouraged or depressed about issues of life would be out of the question. You cannot have the greatest power in your company and be afraid of any other power. One of the secret of Emmanuel’s amazing success in His earthly ministry is God’s presence consciousness. He once said:
“And he that sent me is with me: the Father hath not left me alone; for I do always those things that please him.” – John 8:29
Any believer that catches a clear revelation of Emmanuel will do exploits in the journey of life. Why not you? God decided to come and dwell with us! Let this settle in you! Please note that the greeting for the season is not happy holiday. Holiday is not the reason for the season. It is not merry Xmas. There is nothing like Xmas. Jesus Christ (Emmanuel) is the reason for the season!
