A VERY PRESENT HELP IV

A VERY PRESENT HELP IV

Challenges of life do not give prior notice.  Examination of life does not have a timetable.  Challenges of life become spices of life when victory is certain, irrespective of when and how they come.

There are many situations that man will ever need help to get through.  Therefore, access to ready help is one of the greatest assets that man can ever have on the earth.  Every believer does not just belong to the family of God but also to the covenant with God.  God is the “…very present Help in trouble…” for all believers.  There is no challenge that can ever be bigger than God; there is nothing too hard or difficult for Him to handle.  Jeremiah 32:27, 17; Genesis 18:14

Daniel in a strange land (Babylon) was a clean young guy that had decided to live for God from his youth.  Daniel 1:8.  Even after graduating from school and working as one of the top three rulers in the land; nothing bad could be traceable to him.  Everyone around him knew that there was no way they could get him (though they were envious of him); they could not trap him with money, women, or any such thing other than anything that had to do with serving his God.

He would not compromise serving his God for anything.  He was too sold out to serving God that his own life did not mean so much to him.  He was thrown into the lions’ den as punishment for choosing to worship God unrepentantly.  God is the ‘timely Help in trouble’ for those that are serving Him.

Naturally, at the point of being thrown into the lions’ den, Daniel was supposed to be in trouble and helplessly in a battle for his life among the lions but God was right in there before Daniel landed in the den.  The Bible says:

“And when he came to the den, he cried with a lamentable voice unto Daniel: and the king spake and said to Daniel, O Daniel, servant of the living God, is thy God, whom thou servest continually, able to deliver thee from the lions? Then said Daniel unto the king, O king, live forever. My God hath sent his angel, and hath shut the lions’ mouths, that they have not hurt me: forasmuch as before him innocency was found in me; and also before thee, O king, have I done no hurt.” – Daniel 6:20-22

Daniel said that his hands were clean before God; his heart was also pure before him.  Psalm 24:4.  Therefore, he had access to God and God had access to him; as a result, he enjoyed the “…very present Help in time of trouble…”  Troubles, problems, and challenges melt in the presence of God.  You don’t have to do anything; once God is present, the negative situations of life naturally will flee.  Psalm 114:1-8.  The absence of trouble and problems means the presence of peace!

If you are reading this piece and you have not received Jesus Christ as your Lord and personal Savior; you need to do that now.  He wants to be your ready Helper in all situations and at all times but you must accept His terms.  The focal point of His term is that you surrender your life to Him now!  Go straight to the salvation page on our website; say the prayer there and be in church next Sunday to consolidate your decision.  It is the best decision anyone can ever make on the earth.

As believers, if it looks like you are in a lions’ den having the ‘lions of life’ staring at you with an intimidating gaze as if to consume and devour you in the next minute; remember, God is always with you.

Refuse to be afraid.  Your “…very present Help in trouble…” is right there with you.  You cannot be eaten up by those ‘lions of life’, rather you are coming out victorious just like Daniel did and it shall turn to you for a testimony.  That negative situation will eventually turn you into a celebrity overnight.  God is always right on time!  Be blessed.

Jesus is LORD!
